I guess when you here the term " home-grown" you expect it to be better than "store-bought". The chicks here at the farm are truely home-grown, why do you ask?? Glad you asked; the now 9 chicks or as I call them "The Click" has figured out a way to get out of their bigger pen. Free range chicks. Can't fence them in. I haven't had a problem like this with other chicks and I believe the reason for that is because The Click are home-grown versus all the other chicks I've ever had being "store-bought". Get It?
So far it's working out ok. The rooster and hens seem to not mind these little rugrats being out in the open with them. Sully (the Dane) and Scarlet (the Basset) also so far (knocking on wood now) haven't decided to see how many licks it takes to give one a heart attack.
I have to say these home-grown chicks have a different look to them. A little of this, a little of that..but that's alright.
