Sheldon come home

I was able to pick Sheldon up from the vet today and he's at work with me to make sure meds are taken when they're supposed to be. For only having 3 legs, he sure is getting around the office very well and have my nerves on end. He's on my desk helping me with all the things a full day at the office entitles.

I hope the look on his face is saying pain meds are about to take effect and it'll soon be nap time for Sheldon.
Feel free to send Well Wishes, I'll forward them along to him.

The Eggs Have Hatched

The eggs hatched over the weekend.....all weekend long. We moved them to a bigger pen since a little laying box was getting cramped with 10 chicks.

The Brothers

Shame on me, I just noticed there's two boys missing from the blog; Sheldon and Radar. Two brothers that came to us in Sept of 2011.

Sheldon (left) and Radar (right) are brothers that love each other, fight with each other but are never too far from each other. Sheldon has a blue eye and a green eye while Radar has two green eyes.

Yes they love each other and there's nothing wrong with that. Unfortunately this past weekend while they were outside, Sheldon had an accident and broke his front right leg. Today he had surgery to have his broken leg removed. I've been told by the vet he did really well in surgery and I'm able to pick him up tomorrow as long as all goes well through the night. I hope that the relationship between him and his brother doesn't change once Sheldon returns home. Sheldon will return with 3 legs but as my brother has told me.....he'll fit right in.

A Good Deed Done

Tuesday started off as normal as a day could start. I walk out to start the truck and out of the corner of my eye I see a flash of fur running to the front porch. This is what I see..........
Do you see this? An abandoned, dirty, matted and starving dog. This poor little guy was in set a mess, my heart broke for him. I wrapped him in a towel and off we went. First stop was to the Houston Humane Society but they didn't accept animals until 11:00am. So the little guy got to ride in the truck a little more to work. After a somewhat bath and much much grooming to cut the tangled hair he was begining to become handsome.

I got in touch with Teresa Osborn with the Lone Star Shih Tzu and Lhasa Apso Rescue (http://www.shihtzu-rescue.com/) and she was able to take him. He will be shaved and this handsome fella will be up for adoption soon. He's about 9-10 months and I can personal say he is very lovable and eager to have a forever home. Please check out the link for information on Romeo Ranger and other doggies waiting for their forever home.

THIS JUST IN...........

LOOK AT THIS CUTIE PIE!!!!
Yes this is the same dog from the above pictures.
